Renew and improve skin quality
Renew and improve skin quality
As skin ages, natural levels of collagen and elastin gradually decline, which can affect texture, hydration, and firmness. At VL Aesthetics in Carlisle, Sunekos® is an injectable treatment designed to support skin regeneration and improve overall skin quality while maintaining natural-looking results.
Sunekos® can help address concerns such as fine lines, loss of skin tone, dehydration, acne scarring, and sun damage. The treatment may be used on areas including the face, neck, hands, arms, inner thighs, knees, and the delicate under-eye area.
Your consultation is carried out by an experienced practitioner who will assess your skin and discuss your treatment goals before recommending a personalised plan. Book a consultation today to discuss whether Sunekos® treatment is suitable for you.
Sunekos® is an injectable treatment with an important difference. Like some dermal fillers (e.g. Juvederm® and TEOSYAL️®), Sunekos® contains hyaluronic acid, which acts to fill in wrinkles and fine lines. But what makes Sunekos® really special is the extra addition of amino acids - the building blocks of healthy skin. This unique formula dramatically reduces signs of ageing, while leaving a natural, youthful appearance.
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the human body. It is a sugar-based compound that acts as a powerful humectant - it can carry up to 1000 times its weight in water, giving skin a young and supple appearance. As you get older, your body makes less hyaluronic acid, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles. By filling in your fine lines and wrinkles with hyaluronic acid, Sunekos® helps to restore your youthful look.
Amino acids are the building blocks of healthy skin. Sunekos® contains a special patented formula of amino acids, that includes glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine HCI, L-valine and L-alanine. This formula helps to regenerate the Extra Cellular Matrix by stimulating the fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, repairing and rebuilding skin cells. In essence, Sunekos® renews your skin, leaving it looking smooth, hydrated, and glowing.
Clinical trials have shown that hyaluronic acid products on their own can cause skin regeneration (i.e dermal biogenesis) by stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, but the addition of amino acids is like adding extra fuel to a fire - their presence stimulates and directly targets the fibroblasts, thus greatly enhancing the regeneration process. As such, Sunekos® achieves unparalleled results you'll be more than happy with.

Sunekos® injections are very safe if administered correctly by a medical professional – Dr. Awfa is an expert Aesthetic Practitioner, with almost a decade of experience behind him.
However, although the treatments are very safe, they may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions or for pregnant / breastfeeding women.
We carry out a full medical assessment before starting your treatment, so if you are not a suitable candidate, we will find out before your treatment begins.
The injections themselves are relatively painless. However, the most common side effects are tenderness and mild bruising around the injected areas.
The most common minor side effects are tenderness and mild bruising around the injected areas.
Should you have any concerns after your treatment, Dr. Awfa will be happy to conduct a telephone consultation with you.
The procedure has no downtime and you can continue as normal immediately after your treatment.
In general, it takes 7-10 days for the treatment to take full effect, and the results last 6 months (after which a follow-up appointment is required).
How long the results last for depends on the number of previous treatments, the treatment areas, and your individual characteristics.
Sunekos® can treat many different facial areas. Please examine the image below for more information:
There is no specific age at which you should start Sunekos® treatments – All people age differently and feel differently about how they look. In general, we find that people start the treatments for the following reasons:
20s – To prevent wrinkles and fine lines from occurring.
30s – To prolong the youthful look as wrinkles and fine lines start to appear.
40s – To tackle wrinkles and fine lines before they are deeply imprinted.
50+ – To improve the appearance of deeper wrinkles and fine lines.
Before your treatment begins, our expert injector will discuss your aims and objectives, explain the various therapeutic options, and will determine if you are a suitable candidate.
If Sunekos® injections are right for you, Dr. Awfa will begin by cleansing your face and marking out the treatment areas. A numbing cream is then applied for approximately 15 minutes before the procedure begins.
During the procedure, a fine needle and a cannula are used to deliver the chosen solution directly into the target areas, avoiding facial veins to prevent bruising.
Depending on which areas are being treated, the session can last between 30-60 minutes. The treatment is done on a walk-in walk-out basis with no time required for recovery.
In the first 24 hours post-procedure, please try to adhere to the following guidelines:
